Check support and settings
Confirm NFC support on the device and compatibility with your card. On Android, check that NFC is enabled. Starting a scan differs by platform.
Adjust the card position
The antenna position varies by phone. Hold one card against the back and move it gradually. Try removing thick cases or metal attachments.
Check the card type
The Korean transit app and Octopus app target different cards. Check supported card types in your store. NFC cards do not all use the same reading method.
Balance reading is not topping up
These apps read card information. A displayed balance does not imply top-up support or access to an online account. Report your device, OS, app version and card type if reading continues to fail.
